Enjoying the winter
by admin
Winters often evoke images of cold, snow and ice…of people huddled up indoors and a general dearth of outdoor activities. That is not the case in every country, however. Winter in Pakistan tends to be milder when compared to many temperate or higher latitude countries. To be sure, northern Pakistan can see temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius. But parts of central and southern Pakistan can be a blessing during the cold months. Pakistani girls and boys often like to go to warm locations in Punjab and Sindh to escape the cold.
In Urdu, warm temperatures and clear blue skies is often called “khulla” or open weather. Indeed, where winters can be cold and harsh elsewhere in the world, in parts of the Subcontinent people enjoy warm and balmy weather.
